The 25ers are knocking on the amblers doors with a potential of 5 going to step up. Chasers would be chasing the pacers myself and Clayton stepped up today with Ross stepping up next week numbers are only going to increase. Any more ideas.

I  think splitting the Amblers into 2 groups sounds like a sensible option.

Whether they ride the same route or not can be left up to the ride leader.

Obviously we'll need someone to step forward to lead the new group!

Thanks for the comments about future ride safety. I think for the time being we'll just monitor the situation on the day depending on the route and numbers involved, and then brief accordingly. As to an extra, speedier group (the Chasers) I suggest we can hang fire on that for a little while too. Although one or two riders were slightly stretched at yesterday's pace, everyone managed to cling on. As long as we keep an eye on the back markers and re-group at obvious locations (T-junctions, route changes etc) we should be Ok. Terry did a great job yesterday of looking after the back of the group, which certainly helped me to make sure we followed the route and chase down the friskier element on the front.

The 25er's passed three very large groups in the Vale on Sunday, Ajax, Jif and an unknown group, all three had more than thirty riders. large groups are easier to pass on the big roads but can be annoying in lanes or when riding a little erratic. It all calls for a little common sense and consideration. The Police have stopped Cheltenham wheelers riding in large groups.

I know membership numbers are creeping up, but 135 is slightly optimistic
