Winter Chaingang No: 1 - 16th Sept
« on: September 16, 2014, 09:43:28 AM »
Hi all, it may be hard to believe given the warm weather but it's that time of year again - the start of the winter chaingang!

Last year they were very successful and those that attended got a real boost from the regular ride both in terms of fitness and skills. I'm hoping to encourage a few more this winter.

The rules are simple - no time posted here to discourage it turning into a race and the object is for everyone to get round at a tempo pace, with racing not due to start for many months the object is to just keep the fitness ticking over and get you out in the dark cold winter months.

No kicking through, no last lap smash ups and no smashing it to bits on the front.

I may split the group up depending on abilities and numbers.

For tonight it's recommended you have a back light or bright clothing, it's quite sunny so we should be ok for a week or two without needing full on night riding gear and lights.

I will likely set up two groups (subject to numbers) to allow those that want a faster ride to 'chase' a slower group.

Look forward to seeing you - 7pm Bridgend Industrial Estate

Won't be there this evening but look forward to not getting 'smashed' all winter!

5 riders 1 groupie in a suit.
Brisk wind but a steady ride and a good workout. Nobody dropped.
If you haven't ridden CG before now is the time to cut your teeth.
