Hamstring pain
« on: May 05, 2014, 08:47:37 AM »
Am doing the CARTEN on Saturday and felt a pain in the back of my leg whilst out yesterday, still in pain this morning. Wearing a stretch bandage and will keep leg elevated as much as is possible, Was hoping to get out midweek and TT Thursday, any advice would be most welcome.

Hi Sian

I am doing Carten too. I am also contemplating a Carten return on the sameday, depends on prevailing conditions on the day. If you have any muscle pain now, best advice is as already posted, rest ice compress and elevate.

I will be riding my commute tues and weds = 40 miles and nothing else strenuous this week. Definitely no plans for club 10.

Hi Shawn

Thanks for that, the weather is looking bleak for Saturday - shame, seems to be a recurring theme! Good luck for the day, very impressed you're thinking of returning on the same day, you'll probably see me on your way back :)

If you are not 100% fit it's a long way to go, you could cause more harm to your hamstring, perhaps better to rest it get fit again and do it next year.
