Just throwing this out there. Any interest for a whole club ride on September 8 to see a bit of the Tour of Britain? Would particularly like to know if those of you who usually ride with the social group are interested and if these times look comfortable?
Suggested start from Physiques at 10:00 for the 11 mile ride to Margam Park.
Race starts at 11:15 from Margam Park, and should be on top of Caerphilly mountain for the first of two passes of that spot at 14:43 using the fastest estimate. That gives us around 3 hours (assuming we aren't draughting the team cars out of the park!) to do 29 miles.
From Margam. it's about 15 miles to Bryncae (and optional Ground Control Coffee if we're early) where the race should pass east to west at the earliest 12:42. Appreciate this might be brisk for some, but the race will fly past so no big issue if we missed it here.
Then another 14 miles to the top of Caerphilly Mountain.
Top of Caerphilly Mountain back to Brackla is 20 miles.

Any takers?
