Custodian of TT signs, stopwatch and paperwork for August.
« on: August 01, 2023, 09:16:07 AM »
Folks. I will run the TT this Thursday, 3rd August. But I'm then away for the rest of the month. I don't know if anyone will run another TT this year but if they do they'll need the signs and stuff. Would anyone like to volunteer to hang on to them so they are at least accessible? Otherwise this week will definitely be the last 10 of the year. And hopefully we'll manage to run the hill climb in October.

Hi Rob
In reverse order
The hillclimb - I was about to send off the police notification this morning for two dates in September, the 10th and 17th. The reason for two dates being if the weather is poor the event can still go ahead on the following week. Although I can’t check at the moment,I believe this was agreed at a club meeting. I’m quite happy to apply for October dates but I need to know at least a month ahead to notify the police. That’s essential for CTT insurance cover.

As for looking after TT signage-you may be aware that I have  issues at home that can flip from bloody brilliant to the exact opposite in the same day so I cannot promise anything. At the moment, we’re in bit of a dip in form so the same level of guarantee applies. If I can, I’ll be there on Thursday.

Hi Steve

I went and found Nige's minutes from the AGM. Look like we didn't discuss a date for the hill climb. And we said we'd only run the TT until end of July! The hill climb last year was October 16. 2020 was October 19. 2019 was October 20. My preference would be October (15 or 22?), but if anyone is putting in the effort to get the police paperwork sorted I will definitely defer to them.

Hopefully see you on Thursday.

Rob
Thanks for the guidance on the October dates
I’ll apply for the 15th and 22nd as a backup.
I haven’t fired the paperwork off to the police yet so the October dates won’t be an issue.
See you Thursday.
For anyone who may be interested, the WCA hillclimb is on 8th October.
