Apologies for the late post. Ended up with a mixed group on Sunday and a pace to match. Eight of us out from the start, me, Rich L, Ben, Ben’s mate Mark who normally rides with Rowe and King, Nigel, Paul N, Scott and Carl, and we picked up Mark J en route at El Prado’s to make nine. Good group ride with us all staying together as a group for the majority of the ride. Nige won’t forgive me if I don’t mention we chain ganged down Harbour Way. We chain ganged down Harbour Way. The majority of the strong turns on the front throughout the morning coming from Nige, Paul and Ben, ably assisted by Rich L and Mark. Took me until Pencoed on the way home before I put my nose in the wind. Carl stayed on the front for too long on the chase down from Aberdare to Pontypridd, paying the price the rest of the way home, and happy to peel off at Llanharan for Brynna. Ben, Paul and Mark had already peeled off by this time. Nige dropped off for home at Pencoed. This left me Mark and Scott to press for home having dropped Rich L with a severe case of toe cramp. That said a very enjoyable morning out on the bike, 70 miles and bang on 19mph for me. I’m not around for the next couple of weekend and when I’m back will need to do some longer rides.
