Better late than never, or so they say! Ride summary for Sunday – only 3 takers for the gravel adventure of a lifetime, Nige, Mark R and Myself. Weather was okay leaving Brackla and most of the way up the Garw valley until we started climbing on the forestry roads, the drizzly rain soon started and the Bwlch mountain couldn’t be seen due to the mist. The rain and wind seemed to get worse the further we climbed.
We all started to feel the cold on the decent into Glyncorrwg for our planned coffee stop. Toast and coffee all round. Mark put our gloves on a luck warm radiator in the hope they might dry
Just as we started thinking about leaving it started raining again and our gloves were still wet, so it was a unanimous decision to have another round of toast and coffee.
After deciding that a third round of toast and coffee would be too much, we reluctantly left the café and took the shortest route home via Croeserw and Pont-Y-Rhyl.
Enjoyable café stop with approx. 50 miles riding and 4300ft of climbing.
