Weather not looking great, though forecast is for showers as opposed to today's rain. Simple Vale loop and relatively short at 47 miles, can always add miles at the end if the weather improves. I got drenched last Sunday morning, don't fancy it again this week.

Pencoed - Brynna - Talbot Green - Beddau - Creigiau - Llaniltern - Peterstone - Welsh St Donats - Cowbridge - Llantwit - Wick - Ogmore - home

Coffee stop in Cowbridge, Hare and Hounds

Lights and mudguards please

BBC weather app 1 Met office app 0 this morning, and it was a game of two halves out on the ride with persistent rain instead of the expected showers on the way out and drier conditions on the run for home.
There were six of us out on the ride which turned out to be a mixed pacers chasers ride, out today were me, Rich L, Chris G, Steven, Paul R and Angelo.
An enjoyable group ride this morning at good pace in spite of the conditions for the first half of the ride. Angelo was again the kings of the mountains, first up every climb by some distance, and even looking for climbs that weren’t on the posted route.
We were all very grateful for the coffee stop in the Hare and Hounds in Cowbridge and had managed to dry off a little as we approached Cowbridge after all the rain in the first part of the ride. Great coffee and cake and pastries as usual and lots of additional calories for Steven from a big croissant with additional butter, as if there wasn’t sufficient in the croissant to start, and cream and jam.
From here Chris G baled out for an early bath leaving the rest of us to start the home leg. Angelo left us at Llantwit in search of extra miles leaving the rest of us to follow the route back through Wick and around the coast, worked really well as a group taking turns on the front.
Very enjoyable overall, thanks all.
