Chasers 11/9/22
« on: September 10, 2022, 01:00:14 PM »
Weather looks to be improving so the ride route for tomorrow is out via Pencoed, back over the common up to Maesteg, down to Port Talbot and coffee in Porthcawl

Phewwwww
Alas and unfortunately there was no premature coffee stop rebellion within the group this week. And so arriving at an external establishment overlooking a harbour I was finally able to lift my eyes from the wheel in front to find we had arrived at Coffi Co in Porthcawl.
Of the 8 leaving Brackla, today's 5 coffee aficionados Rob, Karl, Carl, Scott and myself were eventually joined by Angelo, sadly then down to his last remaining 15 gels. By a process of elimination that meant that somewhere along the way we had lost Mark R and Lee S, somewhere between mile 1 and mile 45.
Along to way I presume that we had followed the given route out to Pencoed, back across the common before climbing up to Maesteg and the lightning fast drop into Bryn. The relentless pace continued up and back down the Afan valley where fortunately for others in the group I was unable to impart my extensive and superior local knowledge, due to being unable to speak. Flying across to Baglan we then turned for home into a head wind with Rob happily refusing to spend anything less than 90% of the time on the front. Karl, Mark and Scott chipped in though taking their turn for the other 25% of front running duties.
Glad for small mercies the group split up into 6 individual groups of 1 for the remaining miles back over Dan-y-Graig hill to Bridgend.
Hopefully next week us Chasers in the group would have had sufficient time to recover and to be able to reinsert our rectums to where they belong😁

Well, that was almost better than the ride again😀

Rob is quite welcome to take my turn on the front next week. That will make his total 90.5%….I was sucking in air from every orifice in my body
