Chasers Ride Sunday 1st May
« on: April 28, 2022, 12:05:04 PM »
For our Mayday frolic in the sunshine my suggestion is a trip to Basil & Rusty's Ice Cream Parlour

58 mile route out through Pontypridd and Nelson before completing a loop out through the countryside around Rudry and back to Caerphilly before heading for home

See you on Sunday

I’ll be there for the frolic 😁
Still 9am start?

Yes still a 9am start, but if you can get there 10 minutes earlier we can have a brief dance around the Maypole as is traditionally done in Brackla every May Day  ;D

4 intrepid riders turned up for the soggy Mayday jaunt around RCT and Caerphilly today. Richard B, Denise and myself were joined by Rob. Rob's appearance terrified everyone, not because we were afraid of the beasting he might give us but more that one of us would have to file the post ride synopsis that would match his prosaic verse.
So unfortunately there are no epic tales of Sohrab & Rustum proportions today but rather a Janet & John Book 3 style review of our 60 miles in the wet.
"Richard, Denise, Rob and Richard went on a bike ride. It was raining and everyone got wet. Rob stopped to take a phone call. Rob was a fast rider and said he would catch the Chasers up. But Rob could not read the route and was never seen again.
It stopped raining for a while and then it rained again"

Good write up. Pleased to get out and weather didn’t turn out to be as bad as expected. And good cafe stop in Basil and Rusty’s even though it wasn’t quite warm enough for the ice cream.
