Chasers 19 September
« on: September 16, 2021, 02:12:53 PM »
I plan to be out Sunday. There is currently a chance of light rain on Sunday. I’ll keep an eye on the forecast and post an appropriate route in the next day or so.

So out today with the chasers initially were me, Karl, Paul N, Paul L, Denise, Lee and recovering pacer Reece. Started out as a group ride with the pacers and Karl and Lee doing a good turn on the front out of Brackla and Coity. Paul L dropped off fairly early, we waited up at Bryn Garw, with Paul deciding to do an easy 50 solo. We then continued to ride with the pacers up out of Maesteg to Bryn, up Sardis Hill to Cimla and then the long drag from Neath up to Rhos. After a sunny start at Brackla the weather forecast let us down badly on the way to Measteg with constant drizzle and light rain. We parted our ways with the pacers at Rhos where they pressed on for Ammanford and lots of steep climbs and we took the loop back to Neath through Alltwen, Glais, the steep Drumau Road climb out of Birchgrove and down to Neath Abbey and on to Neath for the much deserved coffee stop. We were able to sit outside Morruzi’s in Neath where we enjoyed a good selection of coffee and cake. And then the dash for home along Briton Ferry and Harbour Way. Lee dropped off at the Energy Park, he had been having issues with his chain for a little while, but made it home safe.
Enjoyable grioup ride on a challenging route today, thanks all, see you all again next week.
