Chasers 4 July

I’ll be out Sunday and I’ve seen Mark Jones this evening and he should be out too.
Weather not looking great unfortunately. I’ll post a route tomorrow sometime.

Ok the latest forecast tomorrow is light showers and a moderate south easterly breeze.

Proposed route as follows

Out of Bridgend through Laleston and onto Porthcawl, Kenfig, Margam, Taibach, up the Afan Valley to Pontrhydefen and over to Cimla, Neath, Rhos, Pontardawe, Trebanos, Glais, Birchgrove and the Drumau Road climb and down to Neath Abbey. Coffee stop in Neath, may need to find somewhere indoors, Moruzzi or Costa? And then direct route home through Briton Ferry, Harbour Way and the A48. I’m guessing about 55 miles and a little bit of climbing.

See you all in the morning

For the record 7 of us out yesterday morning, me, Rich L, Karl, Denise, a welcome return from Mark Jones and guest appearances from Chris G and Harpo.
A delayed start following Mark puncturing before the start line and then we were off. Chris G just did the loop out to Porthcawl and Harpo stayed with us until Pontrhydefen after doing a few turns on the front for us before going off road on his new sparkly gravel bike. That left the rest of us to enjoy the climb up to Cimla and then the circuit through Rhos to Pontardawe and back across to Clydach and Glais and Birchgrove and then down to Skewen detouring the Drumau Road climb. There were a number of smiling faces seeing the road closure sign at the foot of Drumau Road.
Good coffee stop at Moruzzi’s in Neath where we ventured indoors for the first time and the extra large tea cakes were order of the day.
And then the chase for home with the five of us working well together back to Bridgend. The weather was kind to us for most of the morning and only rained on the return leg to Bridgend. And pleased to report no mechanicals for Mr Walton this week.
