Chasers Sunday 9 May

Out to the Mumbles and back, out via Porthcawl and Skewen (and maybe Morriston and Sketty) and direct route home. Will post exact route later. Probably around 65 miles.

Four chasers out today, me Rich L, Karl and Denise. A tough 114km today in blustery conditions and well done to Karl for getting further than 100m this week. Our plans for a steady ride today came to nothing when we were joined by surprise guest rider Harpo coming out of Porthcawl. Thanks to Harpo for doing a few turns on the front for us before we went our separate ways in Neath. We then recovered up the long drag up through Skewen before hitting a few steep climbs in Swansea, especially the one from Morriston up to Mynyddbach. Then on to Castellemare where Karl had the pleasure of treating us to extremely expensive coffee and cake, and even though there were tables out we were required to sit on the wall. From there it was a largely direct route home along the Mumbles Road and Fabian Way before taking the top road through Baglan into Port Talbot and then home.
See you all again next week. I’ve been relieved of my route planning duties so look forward to someone else posting the route next week.

Yikes! I can’t recall you being sacked as our official tour guide. I love your routes.. just not quite so keen on the vertical hills in the middle of Swansea!
