News from the DC

For info, at the CTT District Committee meeting last night, it was decided that all South Wales DC events be cancelled upto the end of April, that includes the club's 25TT promotion on 25th April.
This is owing to the present restriction on outdoor activity being limited to six (from two households). There is a possibility of this being extended to 30 by May but that all depends on the R number.

Following this week's meeting, here's an update.

The SWDC has now sanctioned Type A, (open) time trials from May, the first will be the Sportzmad on the 9th.
However, until the Covid situation improves, time trials will be very minimalist events - essentially it's Turn up - Race - Go home.
There will be no pushers, catering, prize giving, result boards etc pushers, to avoid "gatherings" which will certainly attract unwanted criticism.

Type B events (eg club midweek TTs) can start from 26th April.
As regards Ogmore's midweek events, if anyone wants to pick up the ball on this, contact me.
The regular crew are unable to undertake these events for the forseeable future.

As some may be aware, bridge strengthening at Aberdulais has knocked use of the R25/3 and R10/22 courses on the head for the foreseeable future. The works have overrun the 30 April finishing target. There’s also the expectation that work will be carried out on other structures on the A463 further up the valley. Some members of SWDC are putting in some long, hard shifts in transferring Neath Valley events to other locations in the district.
