COVID check in
« on: January 10, 2021, 04:15:57 PM »
well its been a while since many of us met up so, just a check in is everyone OK.

As far as me I'm still working so at least I can get out of the house but the solo rides are not as much fun.

so how is everyone?

Pretty much the same with me Nige. Supposed to have 'retired' last year but practically working full time thanks to Covid, not much else to do or places to go!

Agree about solo riding and hope vaccine uptake is good and we can get out on rides again

Since the first lockdown, there's been plenty of time sat on a turbo, more miles than the 940 my car has done.
With a history of chest issues since infancy, I'm just keeping to myself and avoiding other people as much as I can. It's boring but do-able.

We've just heard this morning that one of Lindy's cousins has perished as a result of this damn virus - don't dismiss it, its' real and it's close
Be sensible and don't treat totals as targets to be exceded and rules as something to  sidestep.

Carol and I have applied to be Covid Vaccinators. We have completed the 19 assessments, got the four references and given them all the documentation. I have been told all is in order but it takes three weeks to process the application!

I'm still working.  Too often getting too close to people for comfort but it's in the nature of the job.  Mostly cycling,[?] indoors on the rollers.  You'd think by now I'd have the hang of them!

Definitely missing the club run banter, so it's good to hear how everyone is fairing.  Great to see that peeps are still getting out and about, despite lonelier rides.

Did I see Mr Bowmer riding through Llanharan this morning?

Yes, I would have been in Llanharan around 10:30.

I have been shielding on and off since Feb/March 2020 and have only cycled outside 3-5 times that year. Have to say the turbo even with zwift is becoming a bit tedious by now. I have been cycling up Alpe du Zwift most days and was happy to bump into Reece on one of this weeks ascents. On the plus side family have kept healthy and hopefully I will get vaccinated in the next couple of months. Glad to hear so many of you are OK.

Still working from home. I've resorted to Zwift due to lockdown and the weather recently. I'm hoping we go back to normalish soon

Hope your all well and keeping safe. The vaccine roll out seems to be going well and numbers of infections falling at last. With a bit of luck we can all meet up for group rides in the near future. Turbo and solo rides are not great but better than nothing and with the change in rules that you can can now exercise with another person helps. Hope to see you all soon.

I'm training,[ish] keeping well.  Had my first vaccine/injection.  And to say I was ill afterwards is an understatement.  Woke up the day after unable to get out of bed.  Stayed that way till quite late evening.  Friday I was better but my left arm wasn't working, at all!
Looking forward to the second to see what happens......

Very much look forward to club runs and seeing everyone again
