Highway code amendments
« on: September 21, 2020, 07:35:07 AM »
You may be aware that the government is undergoing a review of the Highway Code. There are lots of measures which will give cyclists priority and this is good news. However, hidden deep in the detail is a review of riding two abreast. The new wording is ambiguous and implies that the decision sits with the overtaking motorist. If comments are not received, then this could become part of the new Highway Code. You can comment at www.gov.uk and search for highway code review. It takes a few minutes to do the survey and I think the relevant part is question 24. More detail can be found in the last 2 editions of Cycling Weekly. If you feel strongly about this, then let your views be known!
