club runs / Covid19 representative person

https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/news/article/20200715-welsh-cycling-news-Welsh-Cycling---Return-to-activity-FAQs-0

we can now resume club runs  ;D I've completed the WSA COVID training course set up by welsh cycling
 who's up for a club run on sunday??

 the way forward is that the club designate a Covid officer, who will adopt the role of the ‘Responsible Person’.  They must undergo Covid Awareness training, and ensure the guidelines are followed for all activities, as described in the Welsh Government Sport, Recreation and Leisure guidance;
this means each group can resume and report to me, see below for what is needed when you turn up.

the trained person acts as the point of contact for the track and trace programme. conduct the relevent risk assessments and help pass on the guidance to others in the club, such has leading the club runs they are not expected to be on all activities.

For all activities there must be someone allocated to ensure that, upon arrival, all participants have completed a self-assessment for COVID-19 symptoms.
Attendance should be refused to anyone who is unable to provide assurance that they have done so;

For all activities there must be someone allocated to ensure that the details of all participants is collected and retained for 21 days, should it be required to aid the NHS Wales ‘Trace, Test and Protect’ program.

Clubs and groups should have a Covid plan for return to activity. Preparation should include the responsible person completing Covid Awareness training, and also where appropriate the volunteers leading activities.

A Covid-19 Risk assessment must be carried out for all activities (plus any generic risk assessment for activities along with any venue specific risk assessments);

For MTB leaders, Breeze champions, Guided Ride leaders and Ride Social – the person leading the activity should adopt the role of the designated responsible person.  They must undergo Covid Awareness training, and ensure all guidance is followed.
Social distancing of 2m must be observed at all times
Activities can have no more than 30 people attending (or less if the risk assessment or type of activity requires it).  This includes the leader or coach and all observers.

Surely for this to work as planned you would need a pre booking / registration system, unless you are going to run it like the reliability rides with a non riding leader?

I'm happy to come along on Sunday and 'take a register'.
I'm in no shape physically or fitness wise to join a club run, but happy to help if you feel it necessary

We already log every one when we do the club run report and it's on the forum for more than 21 days. In case we need to contact you if someone became unwell after the ride

Non member contact details ? Track and trace only works if you can contact people

Well done for completing the course. I’m going to try and get a bit of fitness back and join in after the 16th of August.

I'm sure you are all clued up on the welsh government's latest COVID measures
unfortunately RCT and Caerphilly are now in lockdown and you can not enter or leave unless you live  or work there. so please use common sense no riding there unless you live there..

Also those of you from RCT and Caerphilly will not be allowed on the club run

Also I would apply the same logic to the club run no club jerseys - yes I know 30 can meet outdoors but if 6 or more of you are in side then this is where the problem will be. better to be on the safe side.

Also you will need a mask when inside.

time to explore different routes etc that do not involve RCT and caerphilly.

Any activity operating outside the Welsh Government guidance will not be insured by British Cycling.

Following the announcement  by the First Minister of Wales and the Welsh Government we have updated our COVID-19 page.

The key updates include:

    Up to six people from any household can meet outside from the 24 April
    Return to outdoor organised activity for adults for up to 30 people can resume from 26 April (participants under the age of 11 do not count towards the 30 limit)
    Indoor Group activity for up to 15 adults can restart from the 3 May, the same day as the reopening of indoor sporting facilities. The restart of group activity had previously been planned for the 17 May. Numbers for under 18s are not limited and can start from the 3 May but should still respect physical distancing requirements and the wider guidance on gathering indoors.
    Wales to move to alert level 3 from the 3rd May

Today's announcement is an exciting step towards the return of wider organised activity. You can read our full statement here.

Many thanks,
Welsh Cycling
