Club 10' unofficial of course
« on: May 26, 2020, 08:47:49 AM »
Hi All, hope your all doing well during this strange period of Lockdown.

How you would you like the chance to ride the TT circuit on Thursday 28th May I'm sure some of you are itching to dust off your bike and pointy helmet. or use a normal bike like me  ;D

here's how it will work:

This is not organised by the club!! This is you has a 'responsible adult' choosing to ride the strava segment along wick.

here is the segment http://strava.com/segments/2501471

the rules would be to ride the segment on the day between 6am to 7.30pm then from the segment we can look at the today's results

for this to work I suggest that there is no rolling starts i.e. you will need to stop at the start completely then ride off. the segment starts just after the official start line.
no congregating together if there's other people at the start - observing current social distancing of 2m.
following these guidelines it should be safer than visiting B and Q and queuing in the garden centre's providing you all ride responsibly.
please post here to show your interest.

Thirteen and a half hours should be enough of a window to avoid drafting!

And for those of you who do not work to select the best conditions during the day! 😀🚴

we had a few riders have a go at the segment challenge yesterday.

1 - Dave W                       24:33
2 - Stephen Madeley         25:14
3 - Mark Byant                 25:28
4 -Anthony Williams          25:29
5 - Reece Adams              25:54

Rob C also had a go and would have been on for a similar time to me had he not overshot the roundabout and turned at the second one.

Same thing next week??

It was good fun to do something a little different! Also, I hope I can build some fitness for when we can ride proper time trials again...

Really don't know what you are all doing persisting with these 10 mile TTs. 10.6 miles is the way forward!

RobC may I congratulate you on taking over as the rider with the poorest sense of direction in time trials from myself.
