A number of us got together this morning. I will post a full summary of the discussion and a revised plan later today. We are just waiting for a response from the hotel on a couple of points so I can share all the detail with you.

This morning a few of us got together for a coffee to discuss Mallorca. I am providing the summary as I was the only one who turned up with a pen and paper!  I should say that Richard Bowmer has done a great job in difficult circumstances. Thank you.

We talked through some options now that the flights have been cancelled. Easy Jet will transfer your flights and the hotel will transfer your booking. The majority of people who attended wanted to go later in the year, but some could not make another date due to holiday limitations or prior engagements.

There was a consensus to change the booking to;

4th Oct, flying at 1240 on Easy Jet from Bristol, to 11th Oct at 1140 from Palma.  We are still awaiting confirmation from the hotel that they can transfer the rooms to these dates so please do not book yet, just in case we need to change the week.

Just so you know, of those who attended; Nigel/Nerissa, Tony/Louise, Steven/Carol and Lee were up for going. Paul R and Terry/Tina were undecided and Reece and Richard B were unable to go.

As soon as we get the confirmation from the hotel, I will post again.  If you don't want to go on any date, then you can contact call-center@portblue.com and give them your intentions.

Also, for the week we were due to go, I have proposed a 'Week of Adventure' where we go off and do different rides. This may involve driving somewhere or catching a train or two. If anyone has any ideas, then post them !

Disappointing for those who'd booked to go now but hopefully those of us who were planning to go about then will be able to arrange to go the same week(those who expressed interest in going then were me,Lee(who will be there anyway) Mal,Jonathan,Nick&Carrie and Chris Matthews).Obviously the easiest thing for those rearranging is probably just to transfer the Easyjet Bristol flights but we plan to fly Vueling from Cardiff(although I haven't checked the specific flights yet).

Tom I had a quick look at Vueling flights early yesterday morning as an alternative to flying from Bristol. I just looked at the Monday return flights on 5 and 12 October, there were only 2 seats left for the return on the 12th.

Thanks Richard-it doesn't see, the biggest issue to deal with at the moment but I may well book shortly-at the worst I'd hope we could at least overlap!

Regarding the consensus to rearrange our flights, why was it decided to opt for the 12:40pm time for the outbound flight as opposed to 7:30am?...consequenty losing half a day’s cycling upon arrival.

You may have noticed that the hotel has put some details on their website;
- If you have booked a flexible rate and want to cancel or change the booking, you can do so.
- If you have booked a non-refundable rate you can call them on +34 971 897 430 or email call-centre@portblue.com to arrange a change of dates, although you will need to pay an increased rate as it is more expensive.

We have checked that there are enough rooms available but you will need to contact the hotel yourself to inform them of what you want to do. Tony, thanks for chasing this for me.

As you are aware, Easy Jet will refund or transfer flights as necessary.

So, for those of you who still want to go (apparently, the weather is generally more favourable than March), the flights are as stated above;

Sunday 4th October 1240. Bristol to Palma
Sunday 11th 1140 Palma to Bristol

Lee, in response to your question, getting up at 0300 and hurriedly assembling your bike on arrival was a tad stressful for some. Also, we lose an hour on the flight out and would be coming back later than usual as a result.

If you can post here, telling me what your intentions are, then we can get an idea of numbers to book the transfers nearer the time.

Carol and I have booked and will be going..

Booked flights and awaiting confirmation from hotel via email.

Please note the email address isn't call-centre@portblue.com but should read call-center@portblue.com (center is spelt differently, American English)

Thank you Steven for confirming the outbound flight time, getting up at 08:00 will be easier.

We have moved date to October with the hotel. Have not booked flight yet getting refund on cancelled flight and will book a flight once we know whats happening. I am one of the unable to cancel hotel as paid in full....live and learn but who could have predicted this mess. So me and the boss are still going.
