Arrived at Brackla and only Paul and myself from pacers as the others had a gravel day. Whilst Paul and I debated shall we go with the chasers or do the pacers route with just the two of us Rob shouted out he would come with us, so we decided to do the pacers route. Nice dry morning with a little bit of sun but a bite in the wind. The 3 of us set off on the route out towards park street at a steady pace and soon started to warm up a bit. If not warm the climb up to Cefn crbwr soon got us warmed up. We then dropped into Pyle and along A48 till the Porthcawl turning point. I think this was when i decided that the headwind was a bit stronger than expected. It was busy in Porthcawl so we slowed for the pedestrian crossings. On towards Ogmore where we changed the route to miss out Ogmore and straight on through death valley to get to St Athan for 11:00. We took the new road to Aston Martin and the head wind was a killer. We stopped at 11:00 and honored the 2 minute silence, 'We remember them, lest we forget'. We then pushed on around Rhoose and the airport again having some fun with the headwind. On towards Wenvoe turning off for St Lythans through the lanes on to Dyfryn gardens for a welcome coffee and cake. After the refuel we made a call to alter the route and go back through Cowbridge, Aberthin and llantrisant and home. A good work out ride with all working well. Rob did well and should stick with the pacers.

I enjoyed todays ride.

Unlikely im out next sunday as I have the 80's night 30th anniversary bash so might not be up to riding the bike Sunday.

Hi; you guys passed me in Ewenny, and were out of sight by the time I got through St Brides, I am an OAP Ambler after all, but I did make the Llantwit remembrance parade. Cheers.
