Chasers Saturday 12 October
« on: October 10, 2019, 08:46:54 PM »
With Wales playing Sunday we are planning to go out on Saturday this week, 9am start from Physique. Weather not looking great on Saturday or Sunday so staying in the Vale and on the coast and keeping ride to about 50 miles. Coffee stop in Dyffryn Gardens or Cafe Velo.

The route above cuts across from the A48 through Llantrithyd to St Athan but we will stay on Green Dragon Lane and on to St Athan and Llantwit.

There were 6 of us out this morning, me Chris G Richard L Karl Rob and Caer. The weather was generally kind to us, light rain just for the first 20-30 minutes and then dry for the rest of the ride with blue skies at times. We largely followed the planned route with some detours to avoid any wet/muddy lanes. Long turn on the front from Karl and Rob to start, and from others later, with Karl and Rob keen to press on all morning. Rode as a group most of the way to the coffee stop but it did then break up a bit on the home leg. The usual good coffee stop in Café Velo where I had a decent slice of cake this week compared to the small offering I had in Neath last week. All in all another enjoyable morning on the bike.

I know we are a cycling club but if Wales play their World Cup quarter final next Sunday we will ride again on the Saturday.
