Chasers 6 October
« on: October 02, 2019, 08:38:21 PM »
Here's the route for Sunday.

Out of Bridgend on the A48 to Pyle and on to Margam - up the Afan Valley to Pontrhydyfen and across to Cimla - Neath - Rhos - Alltwen - Glais - Neath - and direct route home through Briton Ferry, down Harbour Way and over Stormy. Around 60 miles.

Coffee stop in Bar10-One in Neath.

Four chasers set out this morning, Chris G, Karl, Caer (hope I've spelt your name correctly) and I. But we lost Caer very early to a mechanical just leaving the three of us.
Followed the route out into a stiff breeze with the three of us sharing the work. Chris G then changed the route at Margam so that we could continue into the wind and on to Neath and the loop around Rhos, Alltwen and Glais.
Coffee stop in Bar10One in Neath once we had navigated the street market, not sure if this will be a regular event? Poor choice in the café for me where I had the brownie which turned out to be extremely small and leaving me under-fuelled for the leg home. Chris and Karl opting for large slabs of cake with their coffee.
Out of Neath over Cimla and home through Pyle and Stormy with very little contribution from me on the front (none probably). Good turns from Karl and mainly Chris. But overall a very enjoyable ride in blustery but mild conditions.
I'm not around next Sunday and it is also Wales-Uruguay in the World Cup. I'll be cycling Saturday but if others want to stick to the Sunday please post a ride.
And a reminder that the club on-line store closes at the end of the day for all of you wanting to buy club kit.
