RR1 John Edwards Memorial ride Sunday 10th February

This Sunday will be the first of the club's Reliability rides. Here is the route:- https://www.strava.com/segments/14027409
The idea is you ride at your own pace and choose a time you think you can ride the distance in. If your not sure about the route or your pace then team up with other riders of similar ability.

For RR1 there are 3 options:-
50 miles in 3.5 hours = 14 mph ave speed   
50 miles in 3    hours = 16 mph ave speed     
50 miles in 2.5 hours = 20 mph ave speed

Start times are 8:30 for 3.5 hour option, 9:00 for 3 hours and 9:30 for 2.5 hour option.
Please sign on at least 15 minutes before your intending start time.
No computers, watches or GPS devices are allowed, so if you feel the need to record your ride then tape over or cover up screens.
To be 'reliable' or 'qualify' in RR1 you have to finish + or - 10 minutes of your intended time.
 The finish is at Hannah's cafe, which is now closed, so after checking in, I suggest meeting in Cowbridge for refreshments.
Dave W is timing the ride this Sunday so please be prompt in signing in and remember to let him or other riders know if you don't intend completing the ride.

I hope to be out tomorrow for the 8  30 start, weather is looking ok as far as Reliability rides go. Any new riders who are unsure of the formalities just turn up, you will not be left behind. The name of the game is to ride at an average speed for the set time. Oh and there’s a Cup for the winner, A very prestigious one at that. Dave is giving up his morniing to do the timing so please support this event. Better do it myself now. 🐌

2 did not finish. felt sorry for the last person turning up at 9.30am expecting a club ride only to be lead out by the pacers going for a quick time!!
