Amblers Ride 6th January - 9.30 start
« on: January 03, 2019, 08:37:34 AM »
Weather is looking dry but chilly. We have a new member starting with us hopefully. So I'm thinking a trundle round the Vale with a stop at Cafe Velo. Maybe the midweek route in reverse.

7 out today. Although we started as 5. Myself, Jonathan, Nick, two new riders in Mike and Dan who are friends of Nick's. We picked Mal and Ade up en route. Nice easy route along the midweek route but backwards. Paused in Llantwit but decided to have coffee at Costa in Cowbridge as we hadn't ridden very far at that point. A few little breathers as Mike and Dan hadn't been riding for long and Dan was recovering from major surgery. Once in Cowbridge we took the hill up towards Llandow where I went home and Mal guided the rest back home to Bridgend. Great ride and great to catch up with people after Christmas. Good to meet the new riders too.

We were due to have a third "new" member in the form of Simon Richardson MBE. But due to not being on his bike for a while he was struggling with his neck being painful.
