Chasers Club run Sunday 7th October

Suggestion for Sunday:-

No serious hills, just under 50 miles. Cafe Velo for coffee stop?

I see Nick had suggested, last week, previewing the hill climb. Could tag on a trip to Llangeinor if anybody needs to do that. That would be 20km extra!
Personally I think you just need to train for 5 minutes or so of hell and you'll be fine.

Amblers joined the Chasers this morning, for a mostly flattish ride around the Vale. Weather cold but dry.
Starting out were:-
Nick L
Nick R
Ade
Ben
Hannah
Patrick
Terry
Neil
Terry
Carl
James
Roy
TS Steve
Will
Mark J
Richard
and Myself

Hannah succumbed to the cold early on and Nick L left us at Pontyclun nursing a wheezy chest. Shortly after this at one of the roundabout in Miskin there was a touching of wheels and Roy and Patrick hit the deck. Roy and the bikes were fine but Patrick cracked his ribs and decided to head back. (we met him later in Cafe Velo so hopefully nothing too serious). The group continued on at a decent pace through Pendoylan (twice),  Gwern Y steeple and Welsh St Donats, where the group split as the route turned for the A48 before Welsh St Donats. My fault for lingering at the back woth Ade and Nick. The three of us followed the route to Aubrey Arms and Greendown Lane where Ade rode strongly on the front pulling Nick and myself along. thought we'd get to Cafe Velo first only top find the others has 'short-cutted' us through Llantrithyd.
My legs were shot after the cafe and with the pace a bit high, I limped home from Ogmore solo, #needmoretimeonthe bike!
