Good luck.... and to Joe.

Always good to read Alf's start sheets.  Very entertaining.   Apparently scenic and sexy course with permanent cow pat  :o

On today's ride were;

Captain Harpo, Mark R, Paul R, Greg, Steve C, Allan, Reece and myself. After some spirited discussion as to the route, it was agreed to follow some of the Etape course and that would allow us to get back relatively quickly if the weather deteriorated. So we went over Heol y Cyw common and over the climbs to Gilfach Goch. Mark was looking understandably jaded after a good night last night so I managed to get up a hill before him, probably for the first time ever! (Yay!). We then waited for the race to arrive and this was when it started to fall apart somewhat. If you look at our Strava feeds there was a variety of loops taken to avoid standing by the wayside. We watched the race come past and it was already broken up by this point. We had lost Mark and Allan by now and Café Velo seemed a good option via Cowbridge and the lanes as clearly we had not climbed up enough steep hills! Back via Monknash and Ogmore for those who needed more punishment. My first club ride for a while and it was great fun, despite the rain...
