Chasers 3 June
« on: June 01, 2018, 11:10:12 PM »
For those not going to mid Wales on Sunday.

Tour of the Vale out to St Fagans and back via Duffryn Gardens and home round the coast.

Coychurch Pencoed Llanharan Pontyclun Miskin Groesfaen St Fagans up to Culverhouse Cross and then pick up the St Lythans road to Duffryn Gardens and the coffee stop. Up onto the A48 and then Green Dragon Lane to the Barry Road St Athan Llantwit Major Marcross and on to the Wick Road and home round the coast through Southerndown and Ogmore by Sea. 50 miles and pretty flat.

Looks good Rich. I can't do a long one tomorrow so your route's good for me. See you there.

Glorious day for a bike ride, great weather and good company.

12 of us out from the start and followed the route as planned, out today were;

RB
Mark P
Mark J
Tom
Paul
Neil
Dan
Hannah
Roy 2
Richard L
Chris Reed
Matt
Few mechanicals and mishaps on the way today , lost Matt just outside Llanharan due to a broken spoke. Chris had chain problems in Miskin and then had to work hard to get back on, at the front we'd been told he'd gone home for a change of bike. Hannah hasn't done a lot of cycling the last few weeks so only planned to be out for an hour or so with her Dad picking her up from St Fagan's. And an emergency stop going through Llantwit left Rich L going over his handle bars and his tyre valve somehow stuck in Paul's shoe, and then having to get himself off the floor to change his tube. Hope you are not feeling too sore now Rich.
Early coffee stop in Dyffryn in the sun for the usual good coffee and cake.
Lots of strong turns on the front as expected from Chris, everyone working hard to make sure they were on his wheel going down the Ogmore river, ably assisted by both the Marks and Tom. 50 miles for me today.
Andy not around next weekend and I'm probably not around for a couple of weekends so will need someone to post a route for next Sunday please.

Thanks
Richard
