Chasers Sunday 8 April
« on: April 05, 2018, 09:50:08 PM »
Andy is not around again this Sunday, good luck with the Manchester marathon Andy, so I'll be posting the route again. As it stands the forecast is looking ok, dry, relatively mild, with a light easterly breeze.

I'm thinking round the coast and out to Cardiff and back, Cardiff Bay maybe. I'll post the route on Saturday.

Change of plan for tomorrow as I realise I don't know my way through Barry and Penarth to actually get to Cardiff Bay, perhaps someone else could post a route for next week to get us out there, we can discuss in the group tomorrow.
So we'll head West instead to Swansea Marina with the coffee stop in Café Fresco in the Marina. A48 out of Bridgend to Pyle and on to Margam, up the Afan Valley Road from Taibach up to Potrhydyfen, over Cimla and down into Neath, Neath Abbey, Skewen and into Llansamlet, over Bonymaen and onto the coffee stop in the Mariana at about 50km. Direct route home, Fabian Way, Harbour Way, Stormy Down. 95 km and relatively flat with 935m of climbing.

Large group departed from Physique and with a number of regular chasers making the step up to the Pacers we were left with a group of 6 chasers;
RB
Karl
Jeff
John
Matt, and
Hannah
Good steady ride keeping together as a group. Cimla was a pleasant surprise for those who had not ridden it before and we were joined on the climb by a large group led by Matt Rowe.
Good coffee stop in the Marina as usual, the Marina was very busy today with a Sunday market, not sure if this is a regular event. Coffee stop followed by the regulation dash for home from Swansea with a good effort from all.
See you all again next week.
