Tuesday 20th March
« on: March 19, 2018, 12:11:39 PM »
The plan for tomorrow is to meet At Coity P.O. at 10 am. ( Carrie W. Sarah J and maybe Tom/Roy coming  in from the Vale  to do Bwlch/ Rhigos- dilemma is the temperature for Bridgend at 10 am is 4 degrees so will be close to freezing in the hills so maybe an alternative would be Aberavon sea front for coffee then home via Porthcawl. Any thoughts??

Just been for a stroll above Rockwool, the wind was very strong which made the temperature way below zero. Lots of ice on the shady parts of the road and still snow from a fortnight ago up by the riding stables. Don’t go over the Bwlch it’s twice the height, don’t be fooled by the temperature at sea level!!

Hi Mal,
I was going to post to say I'd intercept you on the main road and ride back to Bridgend after a coffee stop as I have several errands to do there tomorrow-I will ride over there anyway but don't have time to do Bwllch or Aberavon so may see you later in the weekI don't like to agree with Ron but I'd think twice about the Bwllch at the moment

Wind speed is dropping tomorrow, but there will still be ice in shaded sections of the road. The wind is also changing direction and coming from the north which is always nice. At least it’s dry.

All sounds good, let’s decide tomorrow depending on conditions. If our original route is not possible, perhaps we can find an alternative with a bit of climbing as Sarah & I need to get some hills in!  Sorry Mal, but you’ll thank me when we are in Mallorca!!
