Very sad to read this today http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/cycling-community-share-tributes-following-death-of-sharon-laws/

Some of us will remember Sharon racing in the OVW-run WASP in 2010 - I think as the only female entrant. She finished very high up the field (and it was a strong field) having ridden well throughout the race. I tried to speak to her after the race (to write a report for the website) - only to discover that the'd gone back out to do another 40km, as she didn't feel the 120km she'd just ridden were quite enough. We corresponded later in the day, though, and she remarked that the race organisation had been superior to what she'd experienced racing around the UK and Europe, and was highly complimentary about the club, and the National Escort Group motorbike team.

I've uploaded a photo I took of her during the race. Of course, having spotted a roadside photographer, Davey C photobombed it.

I've always remembered the day that an international cycling star rode in one of our races - a touch of class on and off the bike.

Sharon was one of the riders who help Nicole Cook win Gold in Beijing. A great loss.
