8 of us today. Myself, Luc (on his 3rd ride), Nick and Carrie H, Ron, Ade, Jo, Sarah and Andy (returning to the club after a while off). We set off on a shorter route to the chasers in the opposite direction to them. We waived to Nick's mum as we went past her house on our way through Pencoed. Instead of turning off to Miskin we carried on past Llantrisant and down a rather muddy and bumpy (read cyclocross route) through Rhiwsaeson Road down to Llantrisant Road where we turned up towards Pentyrch keeping away from the busy main road. A few idiots on the climb up to Pentyrch though one of which tried to overtake us on a blind bend up hill with a Bus coming the other way. Nearly taking Jo and Carrie out in the process. But they survived. The down to St Fagans where we had a nice sit down and coffee while the drizzle passed us by. Then it was back on my commute home through Peterston-super-ely, Tredodridge, Welsh St Donats and down Watery Lane. Andy turned off and went up Gwern-Y-Steeple while the rest of us split at the bottom of Watery Lane. Luc and myself dropping Jo to the A48 so she could get home from there. I dropped Luc off at the bottom of Gileston and went home.
Good weather today. Some great performances from the riders. Especially Jo with her buckled back wheel and Sarah on her new shoes and cleats which she wasn't happy with to start with.
I will be out next weekend but not for a full ride as I need to be back for a Christmas party I've got to cater for.
