Club run 26th November - Cycling Weekly Club Feature ride.
« on: November 20, 2017, 03:35:15 PM »
As mentioned by Steven we have a reporter from Cycling weekly out with us this weekend. They will be doing a report on us for a future issue. As a result everyone is going to be starting together. So we have one main route which is

As discussed with Andy on Sunday there is a slightly shorter route through Death Valley for any one wanting to cut a few miles off. The aim is to try and keep everyone together as much as possible.

We will be making two stops at the Broomwagon and also Cafe Velo. Cafe Velo have agreed to close and open just for us. It's a longer route than normal for the Amblers but so far everyone who has been out would be able to manage the route. There's no difficult steep hills to manage and it should be a really enjoyable ride for everyone.

There will be lots of images taken for the article and you will need to be in club kit to feature but you can still join in the ride if you haven't got any club kit. Anyone who ordered kit the last time the shop was opened will be able to collect it at the club night on Friday. Have a word with RichardB for more information on that.

The plan is to cycle together as one group to The Broomwagon, when we leave the Broomwagon we'll stagger our departure to allow separate groups to cycle to Llantwit Major and rendezvous at Cafe Velo. The planned route from cafe Velo is via the lanes to City and Llangan, we may avoid the lanes depending on the weather.
It would be great if everybody riding, does so in club colours.
If you haven't got a club jersey, I will bring a couple of spares along on Friday night. 8:00pm
They will be short sleeved in medium and large so would only be useful for wearing on top of your winter gear but at least will show the club colours.
Please be at Brackla in plenty of time, we will depart promptly at 9:00

Cafe Velo will close to regular customers and open just for us with a buffet of cakes for a flat rate of £5 for a coffee and cake..

Hi Andy,
Could you bring a medium top along for Luc on Sunday? He should be out with us.

That’s two taken, think I have one more jersey and a medium winter jacket to loan out!

I’ll check the ‘wardrobe’ tonight

Great to see so many out today, in club colours too! I think I counted 35. Thanks to The Broomwagon and Cafe Velo for being so accommodating.

Yes was a great ride today. Some very strong rides too from everyone. Great to see a sea of yellow. Paul and David at Broomwagon and Cafe Velo outdid themselves. I think we should have more rides like that as it means people get to know other club members. Obviously we can't have a photo shoot on every ride. Will we be able to get any of the pictures from them at all Steven? Be good to have some of them on the website. Even if it's the ones that they can't use because we were waving to the photographer.
