Chasers 19 November
« on: November 18, 2017, 08:33:45 AM »
The plan this week is to successfully complete last weeks route and hopefully the weather will be much better this week! As it stands the forecast is dry with very little wind.
So head out to Laleston, across to Cefn Cribwr and then on to Neath and a loop up to Pontadawe and back down to Birchgrove and Skewen with the coffee stop in Skewen at around 50km and home from there. Total ride distance of 50 miles.

I've realised that the route brings us out, 'below' the coffee shop I was thinking about, in Skewen.

Is there a Costa or similar in Neath we can stop at, to save backtracking?

There is a Costa in the middle of Neath. When we get back into Neath we head up past the station and then take a right after the station onto Green St and then onto Orchard St. The Costa is on the junction of Green St and Orchard St.

12 Chasers out, this morning on a rerun of last week's route and what a difference a week makes. Great weather for a club run, sunshine, nice temperature and no wind.

Set out via Laleston to Stormy Down and soon settled into a rhythm, sharing the workload in the group. Continued via Margam, Harbour Way onto Neath and the drag up Neath Road to Rhos. Minor split into two groups, as we climbed but got together again for the short climb and swoop into Alltwen and along Glais Road.
The climb up Drummau Road saw another 'natural' selection before we all got together for coffee as Costa, Neath.

A couple of riders were introduced to Cimla for the first time but it posed no problems, regrouped after Pontrhydyfen and rode as a group until the 'lumps' through Margam and Stormy Down where two groups formed (with a splinter pair off  the front) and made their various way home.

Out today were,
Steven
Hannah
Patrick
Richard x 2
Chris x 2
Terry
Tony
Nick
Mike
and me
All rode well on a route that I really enjoy and was glad to get in before the winter sets in
