Amblers ride 19th November
« on: November 15, 2017, 03:17:45 PM »
I've decided to be nice again this weekend. Weather is looking a little hit and miss so keeping it low level and round a route that most people know so there's options for bug outs if the heavens open. 32 miles so nice and short too. We'll do pretty much the Tuesday route in reverse but stop at the Cafe in Bonvilston that we were going to stop at last week.

Slight change of plan. I've got to be home by 11.30 at the latest. So I think the Tuesday route will be the route. With a stop at Cafe Velo. That way if the weather turns bad it's not to bad for people to get home.

FYI it looks like there could be road closure at the weekend. Info came from Atlantic College; nothing showing on VOGC website yet, but bus service expecting disruption between Llantwit and St.D’s

Great turn out today. Must be the weather. Best make the most of it it'll probably rain now until mid April. Myself, Tom, Mal, Nick H, Carrie H, Ade, Tracey, Sarah and Jo on her 2nd ride with us. After the weather last week I was worried we might have scared Jo off. We met up with ex-Oggie Dai short just as we left he stayed with us for a while. We rode off on the "Tuesday" route which the regular club riders are more than comfortable with. Roads were surprisingly clear and pace was good. A few cars around along the road through Llantrythid and we got passed by a group of cyclists, who I thought were rather rude. We managed to sneak through past the Boverton Tunnels and up to Cafe Velo. It was a bit early for coffee and they were very full so everyone rode off over towards Ewenny along Dimlands road which was passable. I turned off at Cafe Velo though as I was booked for babysitting this afternoon. Great ride and great company hopefully we'll see everyone again next weekend.

Yes good ride today Ben-A few turned off but most went round the Coast.I doubled back at Southerndown and effectively did the Tuesday ride twice-which took longer than I anticipated!
