Chasers 8 October
« on: October 04, 2017, 08:19:23 PM »
Andy away again this week. Mild and dry on Sunday as it stands. Proposed route as follows.

Out of Bridgend through Lalleston and into Porthcawl, through Kenfig to Margam and onto Taibach, up the Afan Valley and over the Bwlch and back down the Ogmore Valley, across to Langeinor from Pant yr Awel, and onto Brynmennyn and Bryngarw for the coffee stop. From Bryngarw across to Tondu and back into Bridgend on the Tondu road. Should be just over 50 miles. I'll add the strava route later.

Hope this is ok for everyone.

Good turnout today helped by the weather no doubt and the numbers were also boosted by 3 newbies. 13 in total out at the start, I'm posting now before I forget all the names.
Tony, first as I forgot him last time
Me
Chris Goodwin
Hannah
Chris Reed
Patrick
Roy 2
Neil
Nick Langley for part of the ride
Tom
And newbies
Lee
Glenn, and
Jon
Followed the route as planned riding as a group for most of the ride today at a steady pace with good turns on the front from Neil, Chris Goodwin and Chris Reed. The group broke up as expected on the Bwlch but we all regrouped before descending down the Ogmore Valley. We finished off with a good coffee and cake stop in Bryngarw House where we were able to sit outside and we then all made our separate ways home from there.
Hope to see all of the newbies again, I know you have some commitments in the next 2 weeks. I think the club membership runs from November, look out for other threads on this on the forum. And I'll post something on the kit later.
Next week will be a flatter route and I'll try to post something this Wednesday or Thursday in advance.
