Aberthaw East -  Rhoose - around Cardiff Airport back on the main road until St Athans- then make Our way to the Velo Cafe Should be around 35 miles - 40 Miles

Weather looks wet so a rain cape needed. I have told some club members I won't be out. Change of plan see you Sunday all welcome 9:30 .

Possibly two capes needed, but no sun cream. Trek still at docs so I will Turbo instead.

I'm keen to get out tomorrow but at the moment the forecast is heavy rain from about 7am.If that's wrong or if it's not so bad I will be there but may take a 'rain check' otherwise!

The forecast was correct, heavy rain. Richard and Joe Beach Steven M Richard Bowmer and myself out this morning. We all set off together and all rode through floods deeper then the bottom brackets many times. Richard Bowmer and myself let the Pacers go at
Green Dragon lane.

We decided to ride a version of the Saturday morning route backwards. 41 miles for me and dried off in the shower.

I'm out mid week Tuesday I'll post tomorrow if anyone wants to join me.

It was  a wet one - cries of 'river' and 'lake' in addition to the usual 'car' or 'pothole'!  We went through several flooded areas and a couple came over the tops of my overshoes. We found the source of the Congo close to Penllyn !  My bottom bracket and block now sound like a tumble drier full of bricks.  Did close on to 50miles and 3 hrs on the bike to counter my post - holiday guilt.  Finished blown dry and in the sunshine!

Very briefly considered it as its annoying when the actual weather is nothing like as bad as forecast. Main reasons for not bothering were inevitable damage to bearings, bottom brackets etc and thought I'd probably get cold too. Did you brave folk get cold or just wet?

Not cold. Was wet to start with but not as bad as expected. The sun tried to get out on the way home but the wind picked up too. Pleased to get out and get some more miles in the legs.

..should have pointed out that wind and rain not as bad as forecast, plus a lane- based route made the difference...
