Club Kit Design
« on: April 15, 2017, 12:50:24 PM »
All
The design of the club kit has been discussed at a number of recent Club Committee meetings with a view to updating the design of the kit. In doing this the Club colours of yellow black and white will be retained as will other design features. The Club’s kit supplier were requested to provide us with a number of design options based on our current kit and this they have done for us and these now feature in the options for you to consider.

It was agreed at Committee that all members should have a say in any change to the design of the kit and we will use Survey Monkey to capture everyone’s preferred option, Teresa will email out the link to Survey Monkey to all Club members in due course.

There are only 3 questions in the survey;

Question one is the selection of the preferred option from a drop down of 5 options of which you will only be able to select one, the mock-ups for the design options are attached to this post. The options are;

Option 1 No Change

Option 2 No change to the jersey but change the design of the shorts to that of options 3 and 4. This is in response to a number of comments received on the amount of yellow in the shorts currently.

Option 3 Minimal variation from current design, a reduction in the yellow overall with black and white design feature on the sides and slightly into the body of the jersey. A significant reduction in the amount of yellow in the shorts.

Option 4 Minimal variation from current design with a reversing of the black and white design feature of option 3 and with the same shorts as option 3.

Option 5 Further variation with the design based on the Lotto NL Jumbo professional cycling team kit who share our team colours. This is a more contemporary design and in keeping with some previous practice, the current design based on the kit of the then Saunier Duval team. The shorts are very similar to those for options 3 and 4. It should be noted that this option has more black and less yellow than the other options so visibility may be an issue.

Question two is for you to provide any comments, this is not mandatory and if you have no comments simply leave blank and move onto question 3

Question three, you will be required to provide your name. This is an on-line survey and we do need to be able to validate that the responses that we receive are from club members only. All responses will be held in strict confidence.

The survey will remain open until 30 April at which time the results will be analysed. For us to progress with the preferred option it must receive 50% or above of the vote. If not then we will remove the lower scoring option(s) and rerun until such time as awe have a result supported by 50% or more of those voting.

Any questions just ask. And please feel free to share any comments you may have on the designs.

Thanks
Richard

The OVW Kit Survey is now closed. The analysis of the results is attached.

The preferred option is option 5, the design based on the Lotto NL Jumbo team kit. There were 35 responses to the survey with 24 of the 35 in favour of option 5, being 69%.

I will now instruct Pactimo to proceed with this design. To start with this will include:
  • Short sleeve jersey
    Long sleeve jersey
    Bib Shorts
    Gilet
    Mitts
    Arm and leg warmers
    Cap
    Short sleeve skin suit, for this it would be helpful to have an indication of potential numbers, please let me know.

As soon as all the designs are finalised we will open the on-line store again. As previous we will need to reach minimum volumes of 5 for all of the items.

And for the winter we will later add 3/4 length bib shorts and longs and a winter coat.

That is a good clear choice.

Look forward to seeing the new kit in the flesh

Thanks Rich - I may be up for a new 'modesty' skin-suit - only if its much faster than the old one though ;)

I'm interested in a skin suit as long as it's almost as fast as Steve's.

Yes the increased black on the lower part of the kit should significantly improve modesty!

Do we have any time frame on these yet Rich? I'm in need of some new bib shorts fairly urgently and not sure whether to wait or just buy some?

I've been in contact with Pactimo all weeek finalising the design of the full range of kit and should have everything sorted in the next day or so. Should then be able to open the store within the next week with a delivery for mid June. Hope that is helpful for you.
