Rowe and King Series 3
« on: April 02, 2017, 10:17:01 PM »
Inspired by Nick I decided to pop down to Maindy to have a late night spin in the cat 4 race. Thankfully Andy H came along to give his support. Good turn out for this and the standard of riding was decent. For those of you who may not know the race consists of a 23-25 minutes of racing and 5 laps at the end.

The cat 4 race as you would expect is of mixed racing abilities there are definitely a few racing snakes in the mix but also a few new to racing and some who are probably just trying to improve their fitness over the season, most people will be able to ride with the bunch at least until the final 5 laps go up on the board. I still think the club chain gang is harder than this, although the quick changes in pace could catch you out.

Anyway last Wednesday night was a laugh. Had a decent workout did a bit of work on the front but got caught out on the final couple of laps to finish about 15th overall. I'm going to try and make this a regular thing so will be aiming to go down next Wednesday.

Hi Paul

I don't think we have ever met in person, but I was there last week and also for the first race in the series.
First race I sat in and then had a look on the last few laps, did OK
Last week I decided to be a bit more adventurous and try and hold a position near the front of the race, something I managed to do quite well, however a niggling cramp saw me go pop when the speed ramped up in the final five laps.
Over the last 2 seasons I have done 4 Maindys and not yet seen a crash, fingers crossed. I am also hoping to make it something o a regular thing this year so if I see you Wednesday, I will say hello. P.S don't think it will be long before you are in the points.

Cheers
