Amblers Club 5th Jan 2014

Yes I Agree with Andy. Weather looks wet wet wet. I'm thinking of doing the Saturday morning route. That way we are never too far away from home, and we have a couple of Cafe stop options. That is if anyone likes the idea of sitting around soaking wet then cooling down and getting back on a bike.

Safe to say no sun tan cream needed but a rain cape may prove useful.

See you at Brackla 9:30am

8 Amblers set off in the dry. Pete Phillips, Tom Beach, Chris Mogg, Andrew Foster, Jon Spinks,Richard Bowmer, and Myself.

As Planned we rode the Saturday Morning Route (Flemmingston).Pete peeled of at Llantwit Major. The down pour held off until St Athans. Good a pace and quite a normal ride until some unfortunate cyclist's front fork exploded and he was sent over the handle bar. This was witnessed by Andrew and Richard who had gone off the back. Tom had warned us something had happened, and when Andrew and Richard caught up they explained that a car had stopped to help we carried on.

Andrew Foster had a tough ride knocked by a fellow club member and cramp. But well done for digging deep and getting home.

I have family commitments next so will not be out, but hoping to get a mid week ride on Tuesday.

Yes a good ride for most of us today Paul but apologies to Andrew who was uncharacteristically suffering a bit today,,so thinking I'd check he was ok I dropped back to have a word with him pulling out to the right so he could come alongside.Unfortunately just as I did so Andrew had speeded up and also pulled right to pass me!We didn't collide but in trying to avoid me Andy rode onto the verge and nearly nearly(but not quite)kept his balance! The moral, obviously is never drop back to sympathise with anyone suffering a bit(and normally it's me!)Andy's fall was very tame compared to the one Paul mentioned though.
I should be ok for Tuesday Paul,if you're out

Thanks for getting me through today's ride, Christmas has taken its toll on me! Legs are still tender and struggling to walk up the stairs! Hopefully be back to normal pace soon.
