I have just spent most of my friday night trying to fit fecking Continental Gatorskin to Fulcrum 7 wheels.

I've google it, watched the videos on you tube and I can't get the barsteward on the back wheel. Front one went on reasonable (30 mins ish), but the back is proving to be an absolute pig.

If anyone has some good advice on this matter please share it before I ................

I hope they prove to be as puncture resistant as they claim to be because I honestly could not foresee changing one at the side of the road

I had issues with the GatorHardshells, they can be pretty tough to fit.

Try having a look at the following video to see if it helps, you should be able to work the tyre around the rim without the needs of straps or whatnot;

Little bit of talc or washing up liquid along rim (final part of putting tyre on) as lubricant

Great subject Shawn. There is a gadget for putting tyres on. I meant to buy it once but never got around to it. I think that great little shop the wrong side of llangeinor mtn sells them. I have used talc powder when stuck, it seems to help. My best advice however  would be to tell the tyre right at the start that you will be giving up in exactly 5 mins. I say this cos I find the buggers go on right as I am about to give up on them!

I think I have the gadget Rob means and it has saved ne a couple of times when I've punctured in the middle of no-where and could not get the tyre back on for love nor money-I always carry it now!

And once you have mastered that try getting an orange turbo tyre on……..

Thanks all for the hints and tips. A generous helping of talc got the blighter on.

So on related note does anyone carry talc or any other lube on their rides to help in a road side emergency.
