Weather forecast wet & windy or windy & wet, depending on which forecast you look at!

It'll take a better man than me to find a dry route for Sunday, will keep an eye on forecast and see you Sunday.

Happy New Year to all

Perhaps we should all try to think of at least one sheltered non-muddy/ liable to flooding road. Then Andy could link them up onto a route. I can offer the old road through church village, the b4251 through ynysddu, the b4591 through risca...

Forecast still pretty grim, poss not quite as windy.

http://connect.garmin.com/course/5425154

Out along B4265 (without detours I've put on map) to Rhoose, Wenvoe, St Fagans, Pontyclun, Cowbridge. Llangan, Brackla

No idea which of these roads are liable to flooding so detours where necessary!

Andy, Chris G, Richard and Joe Beech and yours truly.

We thought it would be a good idea to do the reliability ride, on the basis that if the weather got too bad, we were never too far from home.  The first hour was fine and then the rain came down.  We lost Richard between Cowbridge and Pontyclun and the remainder pressed on with Joe doing most of the work.  Andy and I tried to get a gap up Death Valley on the second lap but Joe came steaming up at 18mph to catch us.  Back through Cowbridge and up Primrose Hill.  My Garmin is not giving me all the information but I think I completed the 50miles in 2h54.  60 miles altogether.

Found that tough today, just spent 2 hours sleeping and haven't got the energy to walk the dog!   :-[

Found that tough as well was tired before joe started beasting us and couldn't even be bothered to do primrose hill at the end. My garmin said 19 mph average so any hopes of an easy cruise dashed! And no coffee stop either.

I wouldn't be too hard on yourselves-there is a bit of an age differential and from what I gather Joe is now training 24/7-no distractions like work/family/buying ridiculous numbers of records

Decided to kick the dog, 'metaphorically' speaking and having a cold beer instead.

Joe did look very strong today, will have to find a route with some severe hills to slow that single speed down.  ;D

Hi Gents,

Sounds like you had an interesting ride!!!.Apologies for not making today, got a stinker of a head cold so decided not to push it too hard.

Was feeling really guilty so still made the effort and went out later in the afternoon, once my head started to belong to me.!

Did 42m and got completely "battered" on the coastal route from Barry to Ogmore and return. The wind on the return was pretty strong so after 21m against it, by the time I got home I was "poleaxed".

Haven't even got the energy to switch over the TV remote !!!! lol  :)

See you all at chain gang

Cheers, Mark
