Plough & Harrow Sunday 29th December 2013
« on: December 28, 2013, 10:13:07 AM »
As many of you know we traditionally run a club run between Christmas and new year, is The Plough and Harrow. This a club run that ends with a festive meal or quick half. Responding to feedback from recent years people prefer to just opt for the refreshment option at the end of the ride. So instead of a cafe stop we have a drink in the Plough and Harrow. Or stay as long as you want.

The Route

Brackla-Coity-Bryncethin-Sarn-Aberkenig-Park Slip A48 to ward Margam Park but before take a left into Water Street. Then onto Porthcawl along West Road, then take a right into West Park Drive. Around Pothcawl Sea Front Three steps Hill- A48 Take a right toward Merthyr Mawr- Ewenny- Death Valley St Bride Major then Monksnash for refreshments.

Should be around 40 miles at Amblers pace but if a faster group develops they could take the coast road at Ogmore by Sea and we should get there about the same time.

All Welcome see you at 9:30 Brackla

Tom

I also am taking the safest course of action by NOT going out this morning, nice though the sunshine is I cannot afford another prang !

Those with smart-arse phones will no doubt pick this up in the Plough so, I hope you enjoy your lunch guys and have had a safe ride. Wobbly Wheelers back home eh !

We should have listened to Wise Owls Tim and Tom. I skidded off on the big roundabout at Litchard,  and walked home from there. Bruised hands arm and knee. Andrew Storey crashed on the way to the triangle bruised ribs. Andrew has informed me everyone made there way home from there. Hope everyone got home ok and stayed upright.

Sorry to hear about your mishaps Andy and Paul.Hope everyone else was ok-I went out about 11 on my 'icy'route-all A&B roads-saw a group of 4 near Llandow but cars passing us so not sure who was there.Fortunately it was one of my rare rides when I didn't puncture as when I got home I saw my pump had disappeard. If anyone spots a small black pump  between Pencoed/Pentre Myrick/Llantwit-Wick/round coast I may pay a modest reward!
