Winter chaingangs
« on: September 13, 2016, 09:12:39 PM »
Tonight was my last summer chaingang.  I will continue to post for the next two weeks and then Xrayspecs will take over for the winter chaingangs.  It's a good time to start coming out as it will be very different.

Summer:  25mph plus. Riders dropped. Sprint finish.  Race bikes.
Winter; 20mph max. Riders stay together. Corners taken gently. Winter bikes with mudguards and lights ( try not to make the rear one a light from a 1980's disco as it will blind the poor person who has to sit behind it for an hour!)

Thanks to all who have ridden this summer and see you soon for the Winter rides!

Hi Steven
Would it be ok for newbies to start on the chain gang for the winter?
Need to improve my speed
Probably not up to 20 mph but happy to be lapped.
If so , which Tuesday would be the the best for us ( me & Mr H ) to start?
Thank you

Yes Carrie all welcome. I'm happy to run a 'starter's group', when the first winter sessions is announced' I'll post a message. Maybe even do some practice sessions on a
Saturday afternoon.
It's a good idea if we could get a few people together, it's OK being lapped but it can get a bit lonely/boring on a cold winter's night, riding alone!
Maybe aim for 20mph average by the Spring!   :)
