Last years charity Quiz was such a success for Keith Barrett's Guide Dogs for the Blind (£500plus) that we have decided to give it another go. This year it is to support chairman Steven Madeley charity
MENCAP the UK charity for people with learning difficulties
Steven has already raised more than £600 with his Ride London effort so we hope we can add to this with a profit on the tickets. The entry ticket is also a raffle ticket so remember to bring it on the night for it to go into the hat !
Teams for the Quiz are limited to a maximum of SIX . Anyone who has not organised a team before the night will be allowed to choose the team they join when they arrive. So, come on your own if you want, we will fit you in.
Teams do not have to be all Oggie members. Bring your friends, neighbours and family for a fun night out with prizes and lovely fish and chips delivered at 8.00pm. Mary and Alan will make tea to go with the fish and chips but there will be no biscuits or cakes or other drinks so please bring your own wine or beer etc.
Doors at Gilead Chapel Hall, Coity will be open at 7.00pm for a start of the Quiz at 7.30pm sharp.
Tickets are £10.00 each available from me. Ring or text 07840 338754 to reserve yours. We are printing 80 only. I am keeping a register of names against ticket number so, if you have a lucky number, I may be able to reserve that number (s) for you initially.
You may pay for the tickets by cheque or cash and they can be collected at next Thursday's mid week time trial or any Friday Club Night up to the 23rd September. I may find my way up to a Sunday morning club run start too in order to sell/deliver tickets.
Please do not leave it until the night to pay. It is going to be a fast night with lots going on for the helpers and we want to start on time.
Club Captain Andy Harris is organising the Quiz and he says it is looking good. Unfortunately he will not be there on the night and the Quizmaster is Chairman Steven himself.
We need member volunteers to come in at 7.00 to put out the tables and chairs and to put away afterwards. I would be pleased if anyone willing to do this would text me and say. You do not need to take part in the Quiz if you don't want to.
In fact, this would be an advantage because organising the fish and chips and the raffle are also challenging and we could do with a small team of people free of the Quiz to help.
It would be greatly appreciated if all ticket holders could consider bringing along a small raffle prize. We could number these up whilst the Quiz is going on . The prize draw will be whilst the fish and chips are being eaten at about 8.00pm.
So, it's time to put your teams together. I will try to get friends to come and I hope you will do the same, or family of course.
The ticket line is now open
