Track Session 26 18/05/2016
« on: May 20, 2016, 09:44:37 PM »
Starting to get into Wednesday mornings after a couple of circuits around the industrial the night before. Joined by Neil this week which was a good laugh as we took a couple of laps together and apart from some of my dodgy riding we worked quite well together. As the TT season gets underway there seems to be less people attending this session, fingers crossed the numbers keep up and track time doesn't get eaten up by team GB.

Usual routine flying 500m after a brisk warm up 34.4 Neil gave me some top tips which I will put into effect next week. Legs were feeling quite toasted but managed decent effort on the front for the 64 laps about 4-5 laps each turn, I noticed last session that heart rate wise I wasn't working that hard so a bit of a change in tactic this week, 21.29 for this not bad. We did some laps to finish up which was a mixed bag, first attempt I could swear I heard the whistle but nobody else went with me so I did a lap on my own. Tried to keep a steady pace on the next attempt but it fell to pieces at the end. Three of us went on the next attempt but the one fella got dropped so I went around with Neil which worked out tidy, and the last attempt the person who was going with me bailed out of the blocks (in fairness I got out of the saddle and started to belt it for some reason) but Neil stepped up so we had another go together. Quick warm down to finish up then off to work.

Was a great session and really enjoyed ripping up some laps with Paul, we were consistently averaging over 30mph for some of those laps :-)

Paul was exceptionally strong in the 64 laps, really strong turns kept a relatively small group going at a good pace and a very respectable time at the end :-)

Hoping to get 2-3 more sessions at the track before the Etape in June.
