Sunday 8th May Possible Velothon Recce
« on: May 04, 2016, 06:22:07 PM »
Is there any interest in a Velothon Recce ride, this Sunday.
Won't be full route but will take in the two main climbs, Tumble and Caerphilly mountain. (If you want to detour to a nasty little climb called the British, happy to oblige)   ;)
I can't get it less than 110 miles, just doing those two, so it will be a long day!
Think it was about 7 hours last year and we started at 7:00 am, on the plus side weather looking good!  8)
Come to club night Friday to discuss.
Need to be a few out to make it worthwhile.

I'm in.
The British-yes.
Why not add in Llanelly Hill?
Roll on Sunday!

Sounds good to me, what time do you think you may arrive (07:50-ish?)?

I'll aim to be there for 07:40 to 07:45 if that's good.

I'm working - but remember this one from 2 years ago?

It'll make the Tumble seem like a dawdle on the big day. Just don't let Jason navigate on the climb  ;)

What a mistake that one was Allan, the thought still makes my legs hurt.

He's already there Andy.

and...I was not serious about Llanelly Hill,it is an absolute beast (probably the steepest hill I've done around here) and far worse than going up The Tumble (they run roughly parallel to each other up the side of The Blorenge
