Summer wheels

Looking for an upgraded wheelset for the summer.

Want to know if anyone has any experience with Campag Shamal and what their thoughts are. In particular has anyone used the 2-way fit (Clincher/Tubular) can't say I have any immediate plans for going tubular but is it worth the extra few quid and getting the 2-way fit so I have the option in the future?

Thanks all

As a general rule of thumb the Campag/Fulcrum wheels tend to come off pretty good, of course you do get certain models which seem to have bad reviews but this will go for the majority of companies out there.

The two way fit should be Clincher and Tubeless rather than Tubular, I do find tubeless to be very good and I've not had a single issue with this system (I do believe Allan has had the two way fit previously and he had a run of bad luck on them with tyre issues if I remember correctly).

A benefit of tubeless is that you can always use an innertube if something should fail when out and about, except if it's a catastrophic tyre failure.

I have Campag Khamsin and would regard these as some of the best wheels I have ever had, light and fast. I think they are lighter than Shamal but I would advise some homework on this.

I paid about £120 for the pair about 5 years ago. They are on a Campag hub. I have had them trued once only and they have travelled to Mallorca 3 times.
