Your club coach needs you............
« on: October 18, 2015, 04:36:20 PM »
.........and I hope you need the club coach!

In order to complete my British Cycling level 2 Road and Time trial award I need to finish the practical sections and need bodies!

The sessions are suitable for all levels, beginners, 25ers, Amblers and Pacers covering things such as group riding, holding a wheel and riding in close proximity to others, feeding on the move, TT starts, attacking from a group, riding in a double pace-line, cornering, gear selection.  (not all in one session)

The next session will be next Saturday 24th October at 2:00 pm (finished in time for RWC semi-final). Meet at the chaingang car park, Bridgend Industrial Estate.
We'll start with some technical stuff then try it out. It's not a fitness session but there will be some 'stealth' training gains!

Please don't have any preconceptions about coaching, just come along and give it a go!

Some rain forecast early afternoon, please dress appropriately!

I make every effort to keep people on the move but inevitably there may be a bit of standing around, when we practice the 'technical' bits of coaching, so layers and a waterproof advised.

Tomorrow we'll practice group riding and etiquette

The plan is to hold sessions fortnightly and progress the activities.
So the next sessions will be on Nov 7th and 21st.

Thanks to everybody who turned up today, hopefully you all got something out of the session, even those who were already familiar with the exercises we did.

We progressed really quickly so pretty much did the next session I had planned! We'll work on the double paceline again but I'll introduce something else for next time.

Thanks again

Andy

Next session this Saturday afternoon 2:00pm.

Meet in the 'chain gang' car park, western end Bridgend Ind estate

There were several riders from the Pacers group last time out, hope to see them and a few from the other groups this time.

The sessions are aimed at riders of all standards and there were some novice riders last week who quickly learned how to ride in a paceline.

Come along and give it a go!
