As this years evident Lanterne Rouge winner – just wanted to say thanks for the opportunity to shine as a true newbie ;)  In my poor defense I was sporting an injury, too much weight and an old winter bike but I hope to improve all by next year’s event – along with my time. Great fun – many thanks

Re the toilet facilities -   Only when I sent Terry in that direction did I discover that the facilities have actually been removed  :o

I was keen for everyone to be mindful as one of the fastest courses in Wales has been withdrawn for 2016 in response to complaints by residents

On behalf of South Wales DC

In the light of increasing complaints about riders urinating in the area of the start and riders disregarding warnings the district committee decided last night to withdraw the use of the R25/3L for one year.

All events will be on the R25/3H which is further away from the residential area.

This action was taken to preserve the reputation of the sport and to bring home to riders the serious nature of the threat to events in the area. Please behave responsibly.

Good point and good idea. It's not difficult to not pee in view of local residents FGS. All too many competitors think they are more important than their surroundings it seems. We are not!
Yesterday I went out on my bike in the afternoon after half marathon and was horrified to see the state of the road around and a fair bit beyond roath park lake - hundreds/ maybe thousands of partially drunk plastic bottles of lucazade, and similar quantities of gel wrappings. Get real people, this is littering and illegal. More importantly its disgusting, unnecessary and dangerous to habitats. I did think that if a mass cycle event had left this much mess (and it probably would), then the local and national daily hate mails would have a field day!

Tony said he was up for a prize. He only got the lanterne rouge because Alan didn,t turn up ! We 25'ers know how to be cruel.
Bearing in mind that Tony has a Gippy knee but still rode through the pain he deserves his prize. And he has tickets for the Dinner so he can proudly take possession of it.
Well done everyone and thanks to Teresa and Norman. Without you there would not have been and event to enjoy.
Next club competition to enjoy is the Roller Race in February. Andy will be organising some Turbo sessions soon on Fridays and the competition rollers will be out too so, for those who have not tried them before here is your chance.
We all need a focus for those long sessions in the garage at home on those long winter nights !
