"Dragons Spine"

Just wanted some advice or tips from anybody who may have done this.
Looking at putting together a ride from North Wales to South Wales. I have read a few articles and its often called the Dragons Spine.
It will be for a bunch or army lads who can hold 17 - 18 Mph comfortably.
Have any of the Oggies done this or parts of this? Any tips or advice greatly appreciated.
I chose North to South because it's all down hill?? Isnt it?
Cheers.
Si.

The Dragons spine is over Crickhowell, Tretower Cwmdu, Pengenffordd to Talgarth.. A bit of a climb from Tretower side, but from Talgarth it's a bit better.
